{"id":1400,"date":"2018-08-21T19:52:18","date_gmt":"2018-08-21T18:52:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ofalcao.pt\/blog\/?p=1400"},"modified":"2018-08-21T19:52:18","modified_gmt":"2018-08-21T18:52:18","slug":"the-power-up-sequence-of-the-interactive-motor","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ofalcao.pt\/blog\/2018\/the-power-up-sequence-of-the-interactive-motor","title":{"rendered":"The power up sequence of the interactive motor"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"seriesmeta\">This post is part 4 of 8 of \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ofalcao.pt\/blog\/series\/sniffing-the-lego-interactive-motor\" class=\"series-341\" title=\"Sniffing the LEGO Interactive Motor\">Sniffing the LEGO Interactive Motor<\/a><\/div><p>This is a typical sequence I get, after powering up the BOOST Hub with the motor already attached to port C:<\/p>\n<p>57 lines of 10 &#8217;00&#8217; bytes<\/p>\n<p>1 line containing the AutoID &#8217;00 00 00 00 54 22 00 10 20 B9&#8242;<\/p>\n<p>then the initial status of the encoder is sent (&#8216;D8 00 FF FF FF FF 00 00 00 27&#8217; or &#8216;D8 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 27&#8242;) repeating every 0.1 seconds (so each byte takes 10 ms if there is no pause between them).<\/p>\n<p>Not sure about the timings of the AutoID message but the first 63 lines took 1.71126 seconds. This includes 5 encoder status messages so the power up sequence takes only 1.21 seconds and includes 574 &#8217;00&#8217; followed by &#8217;54 22 00 10 20 B9&#8242;.
