Instead of making a long post about the LEGO Dimensions Toy Pad I decided to make another tutorial for the ev3dev site.

Hey there,
I saw your post at Github asking about using BLE with EV3 bluetooth 4 chipset and although you were told that the new chip dosen’t support BLE I thought I would ask you directly if anything changed during this time.
I’m making an educational game for kids which I want to communicate with the EV3 and I’d rather use BLE but I need to find out if the new EV3 are compatible or will be at the future.
Thanks and have a great day!
Ido.
P.S
Sorry for posting this question here, I couldn’t find any other way to communicate with you.
Hi!
Sorry, at least for the moment new EV3 only support BT4.0 in classic mode so no BLE support. LEGO made a strange decision since the chipset used is pin compatible with another one that has BLE support. I hope further EV3 versions will include BLE support but since LEGO didn’t event announced the change from BT2.1 to BT4.0, I don’t expect any news soon.
