I know this is quite an old post, but do you know if there any other commands for the WeDo motor except 1 (SetMotorPower or so)? Or any way to get a current motor position?

The WeDo 2.0 motor doesn’t have internal sensor for reading position. If you are using just the motor and have the other port available, you can make an optical encoder that counts increments in the motor axle rotation like it was done in early LEGO DACTA models with a disk with black and white patters and an optical sensor:
